The Chinese Language

If you target China, do you know what language you have to use for marketing? They all speak Chinese, right?

Chinese is, in fact, a collective way to refer to the languages spoken by the Han ethnic group, which is the biggest ethnic group. There are another 55 groups in China.

There are different dialects Han people would use, the most popular ones are Mandarin and Cantonese, and they are the only two languages you need to think of when targeting China.

Mandarin is the official language in Mainland China, so if you target mainland China, Mandarin is the Chinese language you need.

Cantonese will be the Chinese language you use when it comes to targeting Hong Kong or Macau. 

People from Taiwan and Singapore also use Mandarin, however, you should not use the same content for all Mandarin-speaking regions. Because people use different vocabularies, even for the simple things.
