Since 1997, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) has been authorised to conduct the Statistical Survey on Internet Development in China, releasing the “Report” twice yearly. – As of June 2023, China’s netizen population reached 1,079 million, up by 11.09 million from December 2022, with Internet penetration at 76.4%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points.

– By June 2023, mobile Internet users in China totaled 1,076 million, a rise of 11.09 million from December 2022, constituting 99.8% of China’s netizens.

– Urban Internet users numbered 777 million, comprising 72.1% of the national total, while rural Internet users totalled 301 million, representing 27.9%.

– As of June 2023, the percentages of Chinese netizens accessing the Internet via mobile phones, desktop computers, laptop computers, TVs, and tablet computers were 99.8%, 34.4%, 32.4%, 26.8%, and 28.6%, respectively.

– By June 2023, online meal ordering users in China reached 535 million, marking an increase of 13.72 million from December 2022, representing 49.6% of the total netizen population.
